Edward R. "June" Newton entered into eternal rest on Sunday, March 25,2018 at the age 69. He leaves to cherish his memories his beloved wife Elmira Newton and three children Tiffani Newton, Edward Newton, Jr., and stepdaughter Tara Hamilton. One sister Florence McKenzie and four grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents Roosevelt and Rose Lee Newton, siblings Robert Speed, Sadie Henry, Emma Monroe and Henry Speed. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives, friends, members of the following organizations, ILA Local 3000, George Washington Carver Class of "1967", Walmart, Glazers Distributors and Cox Communications are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Friday, April 6, 2018 at 10:00 AM at Pleasant Zion Baptist Church 3317 Toledano St., NOLA. Visitation begins at 8:00 AM. Interment Resthaven Cemetery.
