Mable Braxton Caliste entered into eternal rest on July 18, 2018 at the age of 95. She leaves to cherish her devoted son, Lester Caliste, Jr., grandchildren, Damon Caliste and Lesley Caliste (Johnnie) Payton and great grandchildren, Jaelyn and Jiyah Payton. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Caliste is preceded in death by her husband, the late Lester Caliste, Sr., her parents, the late Carter and Lottie Braxton and her sister, the late Bernice Aubry Jordan. Mable taught mathematics for 33 years in Orleans Parish Schools, with 29 years of service at Andrew J. Bell Junior High School. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a funeral mass at Transfiguration of the Lord Catholic Church, 5621 Elysian Fields Avenue, New Orleans, La on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 10 AM. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery Visitation 9 AM IN THE CHURCH.
