Marilee "Mal" Jones Thompson, a lifelong resident of New Orleans, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 19, 2018 at the age of 71. Marilee was preceded in death by her parents Thomas A. and Hester Coleman Jones. She leaves to cherish her memories her beloved daughter Kenya Bannister and two beautiful grandchildren Bernard W. Lee, Jr. (BJ) and Faith Bannister. Marilee is survived by three sisters, Sylvia Jones Mack, Carolyn Jones and Jayne Jones Argentin and five brothers Thomas A. Jones, Jr., Charles Jones, Hafeez Mumin, Anthony Jones (Byrd) and Curtis Jones. Preceded in death by two sisters Joycelyn Jones-Mitchell, Patricia A.Jones and one brother Rasheed a. Mumin. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends and her extended family, The Brooks and Fournette's, host of friends at The Terraces on Tulane. There wasn't a day that passed that Marilee didn't speak on her best friends for life, Ida Fournette, Kirton and Lynn Lange Duncan. Family and friends are invited to attend the Christian Burial Mass on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at 10:00 AM at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church 1923 St. Philip St. New Orleans, LA. Visitation begins at 9:00 AM. Burial Private.
