Joshua Prevost born in Slidell, La to the union of the late Hallowed W. Prevost, Sr. and Mavis Edmond Prevost. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, September 10, 2018 at the age of 76. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife, Ernestine Jackson Prevost, two daughters, Shelley Prevost Potier (Calvin, II), Tyra Michelle Prevost and one son, Ivan Shelby Prevost, one step-daughter, Pamela Gilmore, one sister, Gloria M. Prevost, three brothers Hayward Sr., Maurice (Martha) and Hallowed, Jr. (Yolonda). He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, six great children, six step grandchildren and one step great grandchild, nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by his first wife Gayle Faye Bush Prevost, his daughter Lilitha Marcia Prevost, his step-son Robert (Red) Gilmore, Jr., his grandparents Robert T. Prevost and Cora Wesley Prevost, one brother James A. Prevost, one great uncle Joseph Prevost, one uncle Oscar Prevost, two aunts Berthel P. Williams and Cora P. Richardson.
