Dianne Marie Galatas entered this life on July 16, 1955 in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was the daughter of Rev. Marie Galatas Ortiz and the late Donald Galatas. She was a loving sister to Herman Galatas, Sr. During her formative years, Dianne was educated in the private schools of New Orleans. She attended St. Philip the Apostle Catholic School and Epiphany Catholic Elementary School, and was a 1973 graduate of St. Mary's Academy. Dianne later attended Louisiana State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology and a Master's Degree in Social Work. In 1982, Dianne married Jeffery J. Ambrose, Sr.; and to this union, two sons were born, Dr. Jeffery J. Ambrose, Jr. and Julian A. Ambrose. She began her thirty-three year career with the Louisiana State Department of Children and Family Services in 1981, where she excelled to various management positions. Over the years, she was affiliated with several professional organizations. Among them were the New Orleans Association of Black Social Workers (NOABSW), Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP). Dianne was a devoted member of Franklin Avenue Baptist Church and served the Lord through the Mission and Evangelism Ministry. She was passionate in praising the Lord at her church home and sharing the good news of His blessings. She enjoyed international travel and had a passion and gift for interior design. Dianne had a flair of her own, which reflected her divine signature style. As a native New Orleanian, she was an enthusiastic connoisseur of Creole and Jamaican cuisine, often sharing meals with family and friends.
