Myrtle A. Brooks, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at the age of 85. She leaves to cherish precious memories, her devoted children, Nathaniel Brooks, Jr. (Darnell), Stila Brooks; one sister, Shirley F. Johnson and son in law, Lucious Fortune. Nine grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and a host of other family and friends. Ms. Myrtle is preceded in death by her parents Carroll Frank and Doretha Poree Frank; former husband Nathaniel Brooks, Sr., daughter, Carolyn Brooks Fortune, brother, Herbert Frank and brother in law, Patrick Claude Johnson. Relatives, friends, Priest and Parishioners of St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, Staff of Lafon Nursing Home and Notre Dame Hospice, are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, October 27, 2018 at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA beginning at 10:00 AM. Rev. John Asare-Dankwah, Pastor, Celebrant. Visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery
