Nevada Courtney "Nanny" entered into eternal rest on Monday, December 10, 2018, at the age of 99. Three weeks away from 100. She leaves to cherish her memories her daughters Joycie Melancon and Edna McCovins (Robert). Grandchildren Adrienne M. Elmore, Robertina McCovins, Kevin Melancon, Rickey McCovins, Randy McCovins, Roxie McCovins, and Rendell McCovins. A host of great and great-great-grandchildren plus many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her mother Mattie Jackson, father George Levall, husband Clarence Courtney, and grandson Gary McCovins. She was a former member of Ebeneezer and New Creation Churches. A strong woman, who's a retired housekeeper, who travel and love to decorate but her passion was her family. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Wednesday, December 19, 2018, at 10:00 AM at Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home 1615 St. Philip St., New Orleans, LA.
