Ovalee Morant entered into eternal rest on Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the age of 90. He was born in Clarks, LA and was a life long resident of New Orleans. He was a veteran of the Korean War, owner of O. Morant Drayage and Deals Package Liquor Store, member of the Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club. The Beloved husband of the late Eloise Cole Morant. Son of the late Leon Morant, Sr. and the late Alberta Davis Ford. Ovalee was the loving father of Yolande Cole Morant and Edwina (John) Figaro. Grandfather of eight and great grandfather of five. Ovalee is survived by eight siblings and one sister-in-law. Preceded in death by his children Vicky M. Richardson, Oval Rene Morant, Herbert Wooten, Andre Morant, and Johnell M. Ervin, and three siblings Olevia Montgomery, James Venison, and Pattie Morant. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends, members of Historic Second Baptist Church, Union Bethel AME Church, Zulu Social Aid and Pleasure Club, and Alpha Beta Omega and Omicron Lambda Omega chapters of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. are invited to attend the Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 6, 2019 at 10:00 AM Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home 1615 St. Philip St. New Orleans, LA 70116 in the Chapel of Roses.
