A dear colleague who understood not only the complexities of finance when there was never enough money, but also appreciated the mission of the school and the relationships that embodied that mission. Somehow she helped things happen when resources were scarce. It was a delight to visit her office and hear about Linda's daughters before we got down to business.

Dear Friends, all those who loved Linda and whom Linda loved, especially Kian and Kiara,
I was a colleague of Linda through the years that she worked as our Financial Officer at Perkins School of Theology. We missed her warm and wise guiding presence after she retired, and are deeply saddened by this news of her passing.
On a personal note, my wife Maria and I had two boys, born in the early 1990's, about the same time as Kian and Kiara, and she would relate to me how you both were doing through the years, from your childhood through youth through college days, and after college....and i would also share with her how our two sons of similar ages were doing, etc. Every visit to her office included these casual conversations, so it felt like i had known both of you her dearly beloved daughters through the years.
Grieving Linda's passing together with everyone in the family, with all of us at the Perkins community. Please know that Linda will always be in our hearts, with gratitude, more than words can say. Sincerely, Ruben Habito.

I met Linda roughly 18 years ago at church. Later that same Sunday we discovered that our children attended the same school when they were setting up their lockers for the first day of class. We exchanged contact information and became instant friends. We remained in touch via phone, email, or text. It was a pure delight and blessing from our Almighty God that He directed our paths to cross. Although I knew Linda became very ill she never complained about her sickness. She would say things like "I won't complain, God has been so gracious to me!!" Linda would let me know when she was in the hospital or rehab and we would pray and read scriptures via text messages. Again, rather than complain she would say, "Let us appreciate all that we have. Lord, we lift up our hands and surrender our lives to you." Linda kept the faith near to her heart. Recently, upon being released from rehab, Linda sent Psalm 116 in the form of a testimony. She said, "Then called I upon the name of the Lord; O Lord, I beseech thee, deliver my soul. Gracious is the Lord, and righteous; yea, our God is merciful. The Lord preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me. Return unto thy rest, O my soul; for the Lord hath dealt bountifully with thee. For thou hast delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears, and my feet from falling. I will walk before the Lord in the land of the living." What courage. What faith. What a strong beautiful woman of God! To Kian and Kiara may each of you go forward knowing how much your mother really loved you. It was Linda's and my joy to pray for each of our families. For as long as I live, I will continue to keep you near my heart and in my prayers. To the family, although we have never met, Linda often spoke of her sisters, brothers, and others. It was obvious that family was important to her. Rest in peace my dear friend. You are missed!!

God's servants,
Janet and Marian
