Bonita Nelson was born to Thad and Emily Ball, the second youngest of nine children. She was a life-long resident of New Orleans and was a graduate of John F. Kennedy High School, Class of 1985. She earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from Southern University of New Orleans in 2005 and completed her Master of Business Administration in 2011 from the University of Phoenix. Bonita served as the Chief Financial Officer of Lightning Fast Courier Service for twenty-six years. On May 14, 1987, Bonita was united in holy matrimony to Keith Cornell Nelson and to this union, one daughter was born, Keitrell Briann Nelson. Bonita and family joined Beacon Light International Baptist Cathedral of New Orleans in 1995 and had faithfully served in multiple ministries. She leaves to cherish precious memories, loving husband, Keith Cornell Nelson, devoted daughter, Keitrell Briann Nelson, a very special nephew, Brison Burris and God-child, Juanita Pratt; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thad Ball; in-laws Mr. and Mrs. Urence Nelson; six sisters, Kathy Bell, Phyllis Lewis, Katrina Anderson (Wesley), Zina Ball, Tammie Ball and Edrice Matthews (Stephen); one brother: Clyde Burris Jr; two brothers in-law, Kurt Nelson and Kevin Nelson (Monica) as well as a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She was preceded in death by one brother, Darryl Ball. Bonita was a fighter to the end of her battle with breast cancer. She departed from this earthly life on Wednesday, July 15, 2020.
