Joyce Journeé Maurice entered into eternal rest at home on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Maurice was born on July 6, 1929 in New Orleans, LA to the late Wilfred Sr. and Hazel Declouet Journeé. Wife of the late Whitney J. Maurice, mother of Cherylyn M. Hall, the late Valencia M. Goodman, the late Debra M. Matthews and Stephanie P. Maurice. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Wilfred Journeé, Jr. and sister, Gloria J. Jones. Mrs. Maurice also leaves to cherish her memory a sister, Melva J. Wilson, two daughters, eleven grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends, priest and parishioners of Corpus Christi/Epiphany Catholic Church are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life of Mrs. Joyce Journeé Maurice will be held at Corpus Christi/Epiphany Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Ave., New Orleans, LA 70116 on Monday, December 14, 2020 at 10 a.m., Father Joseph Champion, S.S.J.,Celebrant. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave., New Orleans, LA 70122. Visitation 9 a.m. in the church.
