Obituary for Viola Taylor

Mrs. Viola Stewart Taylor departed this earthly life on Thursday, December 3,2020. She was born in Cleveland, MS on March 3, 1947 to Mrs. Mary Davis Stewart and Mr. Alex Stewart. Viola became a resident of New Orleans, LA at the tender age of seventeen when she decided to plant her roots here and raise her family. She was a devoted employee of Ye Ole College Inn for nearly twenty years. She leaves to cherish precious memories, two devoted daughters, Gail Taylor and Ciara Taylor; seven grandchildren, Sydney Taylor, George Taylor, Oriante' Taylor, Akaria Taylor, Chevzis Wallace, Amari Wallace and Chayce Rodriguez; one Goddaughter, Annette Robinson; three sisters, Willie B. Stewart Burgin (Charles), Luberdia Stewart and Sima Mae Stewart White (Laydail). Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Viola was preceded in death by her parents, Mary and Alex Stewart; one sister, Ethel J. Stewart and two brothers, Alex Jr. and John Wesley Stewart. A Funeral Service honoring the life of Mrs. Viola Stewart Taylor will take place in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at 10 a.m. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, everyone attending must wear a facemask and practice social distancing. Interment private. Visitation 9 a.m. in the chapel.
