Obituary for Rochelle George

Rochelle "Roe" George was born on February 16, 1974 to her loving parents, the late Michael, Sr. and Regina Gail Harris-George. Rochelle's proudest moment in life was becoming a mother to her only child, Tyazia George. "Roe" attended Livingston Junior High School, Abramson and J. S. Clark High Schools. She was employed by Centerplate at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome. When "Roe" was not working, she could be found on any given Sunday walking a Second line with her shades on and a daiquiri in hand or at one of her other past time enjoyments, the Casino or BINGO. "Roe" was the loving and devoted sister of Michael, Jr. "Poppee", Tirla "Yvette" and Michelle "Meedy" George. She developed a special bond with her great nephew, Brayon George and great niece, Royale George. Mourning her departure deeply is her daughter, Tyazia; sisters, brother, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great nephews, Godfather, as well as a host of other Aunts, Uncles, cousins, coworkers, friends and associates. In addition to her parents, "Roe" was also preceded in death by her brother, Reginald Harris, Sr., grandparents, other aunts and uncles. Relatives and friends; Staff and employees of Centerplate, Tulane Hospital, The New Orleans Superdome, Blake Hotel and Aniomo Living are invited to attend the funeral. A Home going Celebration honoring the life of Rochelle "Roe" George will be held at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 2428 Flood Street, New Orleans, LA.70117 on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 10 AM, Rev. Dilton Robinson, Officiating. Interment Resthaven Cemetery. Visitation 9 am in the church.
