Waldon Dave "Choo Choo" Green, Jr. entered this world on February 21, 1944, the first child of the late Youla Phillips and Waldon Green, Sr. He departed this life on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at the loving age of 76. A lifelong New Orleanian, Waldon grew up in the Treme area where he lived with his aunt and uncle since he was a little boy. He joined the military at the age of 18 where he served his country for 4 years. In 1960 he married his one and only true love, Barbara L. Green and to this union, five children were born, Michael, Tina, Waldon, III, Darrin and Tony. In addition to his parents, Waldon was also preceded in death by six sisters and two brothers. He leaves to cherish precious memories his loving wife, Barbara L. Green; devoted children, Michael (Tonshai), Waldon, III (Sherree), Darrin (Desiree), Tony (Marlene) and Tina (Nathan); siblings, Loma G. Lafayette, Stephanie Green, Pamela G. Jackson, Desiree Phillips, Madeline Phillips, Henry and Lionel Phillips; aunts, Julia Martinez, Shirley Montana, Barbara Bowman, Elizabeth Frank and an uncle, Rudolph Martinez. Also survived by thirty four grandchildren, sixty eight great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life of Mr. Waldon Dave "Choo Choo" Green, Jr. will be held at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church, 1923 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at 10 am. Interment private. Visitation 9 am in the church.
