Obituary for Joseph Chevalier

Joseph Robert Chevalier, a beloved husband, father, son, brother and friend, entered into eternal rest on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at the age of 87. "Billy" as he was affectionately known by friends and family, was born in New Orleans, LA to Walter, Sr. and Ezelda Chevalier on January 27, 1934. He married Judy Ann Molina on July 28, 1956 in New Orleans and worked for many years in construction and with Judy in other entrepreneurial endeavors. He dedicated his life to family and friends and most recently to the loving care of his wife, Judy. He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Judy Molina Chevalier; parents, Walter and Ezelda Chevalier; daughter, Pamela Chevalier-August; brother, Walter Chevalier, Jr; sisters, Kim Chevalier, Jeanette Chevalier, Violet Chevalier and Deanna Chevalier; mother- and father-in-law, Moriano and Anne Molina; sister-in-law Janet Harrison; brothers-in-law, Anthony Molina, Sr. and Elmo Harrison. Billy leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Joseph Chevalier, Jr. (Regina), Juan Chevalier (Desiree) and Randy Chevalier (Antoinette); son-in-law, Gregory August, and sisters, Anna Chevalier, Hybebah Chevalier, Lashawn Chevalier and sister-in-law, Elaine Chevalier; grandchildren, Michelle Moore (Devin), Monique Johnson (Charles), Jeremy Chevalier, Sr., Danielle Chevalier, Yahweh Chevalier, Hannah Chevalier, Lancelot Chevalier, Taylor Chevalier, Kaitlyn August, Alyssa August, Tyler Chevalier, Gregory "Joey" August, and Daniel Chevalier. Also survived by great-grandchildren, Jaden Breaux, J'yan Chevalier, Dior Chevalier, Natalie Chevalier, Cooper Moore, Marquez Johnson, Cameron Moore, Karson Johnson and Jeremy Chevalier, II as well as a host of other family and friends. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of Mr. Joseph Robert "Billy" Chevalier will be held at Corpus Christi/ Epiphany Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117 on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10 AM, with recitation of the Holy Rosary at 9:30 AM. Interment St. Roch Cemetery # 2. A Repast will be held at the Corpus Christi Church Hall immediately following the committal service. Visitation 8 am in the church.
