Iona Louise Augustus Franklin, Age 80 and a lifelong resident of Braithwaite, LA peacefully went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 5, 2021 at home with family. Born in 1940 to the late Joseph Augustus and Laura Allen in Braithwaite, Iona graduated from and retired after working 30 years at Phoenix High School. Beloved wife of Frank L. Franklin, Sr. Loving mother of Frank L. Franklin, Jr., Lional Franklin, Todd Franklin, Sr. and the late Kennetta Franklin Sylve. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Homegoing Celebration honoring the life of Mrs. Iona Louise Augustus Franklin at St. Andrew Baptist Church, 2823 English Turn Road, Braithwaite, LA 70040 on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at 10 am. Interment English Turn Cemetery, Braithwaite , LA. Visitation 8 am in the church. A drive through viewing will be held at Charbonnet Family Services, 4917 E. Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA 70092 on Friday, February 12, 2021 from 5 pm to 7 pm.
