Dr. Zella Theriot Markey, renowned educator, author, minister, wife, mother, "Grammie," transitioned into eternal life on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at the age of 72 years.She was born on August 17, 1948, to the late Oliver and Dorothy Theriot in New Orleans, LA. Dr. Markey leaves to cherish precious memories, her devoted husband of 51 years, Carl Markey; loving siblings, Gerald Theriot (Maud) of Chino Hills, CA, Gilda Theriot and Thaddeus Theriot (Antionette); three phenomenal daughters, Stephanie Markey- Moore, Synthia Markey Tate and Stacye Markey; Son-In-Love,Thayer Moore; amazing grandsons, Kaleb Moore, Ian Tate and Ethan Moore. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, sisters, and brothers in Christ and friends. A Celebration honoring the Life of Dr. Zella Theriot Markey will be held at Light City Church, 6117 St. Claude Ave., New Orleans, LA, 70117 on Monday, February 15, 2021, at 11 AM. Interment Lakelawn Park Cemetery. Visitation 9:30 AM in the Church.
