Ceolia Mae Banks, age 73, was the only daughter born to the union of the late Isidonia Bailey Banks and Hebert Banks, Sr., on May 8, 1947 in New Orleans, LA. She departed her earthly body to ascend with the Lord on Thursday, March 11, 2021 at Ochsner Medical Center. She was a person who never complained, even in her darkest hours. As a child, she attended Violet Consolidated High School in Violet, LA. She later attended McCarthy Junior High School and G. W. Carver Senior High School in New Orleans, LA. Ceolia was married to Glendon Myer and to this union, two children were born, Peggy Ann Myer (Dwight Christophe, devoted friend) and Martin Myer, Sr. (Angela Burke, devoted friend); She was also blessed with a bonus daughter, Angela Godfrey. Ceolia had three devoted brothers, Hebert Banks, Jr. (the late Willieola Banks), Oliver Banks (Selina Banks) and the late Ulysses Banks, Sr. (Beverly T. Banks). She also leaves to mourn her passing, five grandchildren, Eric Jr., Jordan, Ambry, Martin, Jr. and Brandon; six great-grandchildren, Oubrey and Jayce, Skyler and Jay'Den, Jorrii and Joryian; special cousin and friend, Doris Bailey Kennedy; three godchildren, a vast array of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. A funeral service honoring the life of Ceolia Mae Banks will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Family Services, 4917 E. Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA 70092 on Monday, March 22, 2021 at 11 am. Interment Lake Lawn All Saints Mausoleum, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Visitation 10 am in the chapel.
