Dorothy Jean Snowden Hawkins, age 69 and a resident of Marrero, LA, was born on August 15, 1951 in New Orleans, LA to the late Edgar Sr. and Dorothy Day Snowden formerly of Waterproof, LA. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Thomas Hawkins, Jr. and together they raised three children, Jonthal Hawkins (June), Keith Hawkins and Tammy Hawkins Simmons (Darius). She entered into rest on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at 11:50 am. In addition to her parents, Dorothy was also preceded in death by her aunt and uncle, Amelia and Nathaniel Hensley; one brother, Edgar Snowden, Jr; parents in law, Thomas and Ophelia Hawkins, Sr; four brothers in law and two sisters in law. Left to cherish precious memories are her husband,Thomas and their three children, eleven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two brothers, two godchildren, eleven sisters in law, seven brothers in law, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, loved ones and friends. A Funeral service honoring the life of Mrs. Dorothy Jean Snowden Hawkins will be held at Second Highway Baptist Church, 1533 Haydel Drive, Marrero, LA 70072 on Saturday, April 3, 2021 at 10 am. Interment Woodlawn Park Memorial Cemetery, 9820 Nine Mile Point Rd.,Westwego, LA 70094.
