Gertrude McCormick, affectionately known as "Gert" was born on March 3, 1945 in Thibodaux, LA to the union of the late Elijah and Elvira Robinson. Gert was the loving mother of eleven children, Sylvia, Willie, Charlotte, Albert, Howard, Deidra, Shawn, Karen, Fanta, the late Timothy and Linda. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard. Gert is survived by thirty eight grandchildren; thirty six great grandchildren; three sisters, Madelyn, Alma and Carol. Seven siblings preceded her in death. She also leaves to cherish her memory, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other very close family and friends. A Funeral service honoring the life of Gertrude "Gert" McCormick will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at 9:30 AM. Interment Private. Visitation 9 AM in the Chapel.
