Obituary for Ronald DeCuir

Ronald Joseph DeCuir received his wings on Thursday, April 29, 2021. He was born on September 15, 1953 to the late Henry and Rita DeCuir. As a young man, Ronald's dream job was traveling as a cross country driver until he met and married Teresita "Terri" Walker. Ronald and Terri were married for 43 years and to this union, two beautiful daughters were born, Shelita Marie DeCuir and Sherell Monique DeCuir. Ronald was an avid fisherman, hunter and crafter. He created beautiful pieces of wood art and also had a passion for cooking. He even had a signature dish that he named 'Ronald Role'. Ronald loved to make pecan pralines and later experimented with peanuts and coconut pralines. He was very proud when he was able to teach someone his cooking skills. He taught his niece, Michelle how to make candy and even saw to it that she had her own candy pot. In addition to his wife and children, Ronald is also survived by three grandchildren, Terrance William DeCuir, Tyler Joseph-Michael McFarland and Raven Jordyn DeCuir; two sisters, Margaret (Darryl) Broussard and Kathleen (Harry) Gabriel; two brothers, Henry DeCuir, Jr. and Michael (Beatrice) DeCuir; sisters-in-law, Tracey (Lionel) Dupart, Josephine DeCuir; brothers-in-law, John (Carol) Walker, Earl Bajoie and Clarence Braud. Also survived by aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Ronald is also preceded in death by his father and mother in law, Henry and Shirley Walker; sisters, Lucy Braud, Cecil Bajoie; sister-in-law, Rose Marie DeCuir; brother, Richard Lee DeCuir and nephew, Michael Braud. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life of Mr. Ronald Joseph DeCuir will be held at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70127 on Friday May 7, 2021 at 11 AM. Interment Private. Visitation 10 AM Iin the church.
