Oliver Pernell Williams, Sr., age 58 of Violet, LA peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, December 8, 2021at LCMC University Medical Center surrounded by family.
Oliver was born on August 12, 1964 in New Orleans, LA to the union of Bernell, Sr., and Carrie Washington Williams. He is survived by his loving wife Tanya Hill Williams of 29 years; beloved children, Fallon Monique, Joshua (Johnnetta), Oliver, Jr., (Kayla) and Jai Justin, Sr. Beloved grandchildren, Jai Williams, Jr. and Pharyn King; siblings, Bernell, Jr. (Donyette),Troy (Deidera) Williams and Melanie (Rev. Willie, Sr.) Sylvester; father and mother in law, Joseph and Vera Hill; Also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.Ollie accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son and brother; a true friend and an avid Miami Dolphins and New York Yankees fan. Oliver was a lifelong resident of St. Bernard Parish and a 1982 graduate of Chalmette High School.
A Funeral Service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Oliver "Ollie" Pernell Williams, Sr. will be held at Christian Fellowship Family Worship Center, 5816 E. Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA 70092 on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at 11 AM, Bishop Henry Ballard, Officiating. Interment Merrick Cemetery. Visitation 10 AM In the church. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, seating in the church is limited. Everyone in attendance is required to wear a face mask and practice social distancing at all times.Strictly enforced.
A drive-through viewing will also be held at Charbonnet Family Services, 4917 E. Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA 70092 on Monday, December 20, 2021 from 4 PM to 6 PM. Remain in your vehicles.
