Obituary for Beverly Johnson

Beverly Margaret Heno was born on April 21, 1932 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Albert Heno and Leona Martin. She was the seventh child and fifth daughter of 11 children. At an early age, Beverly began her Christian life at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church where she received the sacraments of Baptism, Penance, Holy Eucharist, and Confirmation. She continued her education at St. Mary’s Academy Catholic High School graduating in 1950. Beverly was a true believer in God and very devoted to her Christianity. She lived a good, enriched, and prosperous life in Jesus Christ.

On December 27, 1952, she was united in Holy Matrimony to Edward Johnson, Jr. From this union, three children were born: Edward III, Etienne, and Aida Maria Johnson. In 1957, Edward and Beverly moved the family to Los Angeles, California where they lived for the next 27 years before returning home to New Orleans.

She leaves to cherish in her loving memory two sons, Edward III and Etienne Johnson, and a daughter Aida Johnson-Kemp; four grandchildren; Lawrence & Etienne Weber, Raymond & Joshua Johnson. One daughter-in-law Rita Johnson and one son-in-law George Kemp, Jr.

Beverly is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends of the family.

Relatives and friends of the family, the pastor, officers and members of Corpus Christi/Epiphany Catholic Church, St. James Major Catholic Church, St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, and all neighboring churches. The Knights of Columbus, the employees of USDA/National Finance Center, CW Resources and the administration and staff of Dillard University of Louisiana are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Corpus Christi/Epiphany Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Avenue, New Orleans, La. 70116 at 10:00 am on Monday, January 17, 2022, Fr. Henry Davis - Officiant. Visitation is from 8:30am - 9:45am. The Rosary will be said at 9:45am. Interment: Mount Olivet Mausoleum 4000 Norman Mayer Ave, New Orleans, LA 70122. Charbonnet-Labat-Glapion Funeral Home are in charge of the arrangements. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, everyone in attendance must wear a face mask. Strictly enforced. THERE WILL BE NO REPAST
