Albert Poree, Sr. departed this earthly life on Saturday, February 13, 2022 at the age of 67. He was born in New Orleans, LA on November 21, 1954 to his beloved parents, the late Elsie Harris Poree and Gilbert Poree. He graduated from G.W. Carver High School and attended Southern University. Mr. Poree was a master electrician by trade and was employed by the Housing Authority of New Orleans for many years. Survivors include his companion, Latrice Claiborne; a loving sister, Ursula Poree Kelly (Dr. Ernest); three children, Albert Jr. (Myla), Eric, and Jaylen; three grandchildren, Reese, Nola, and Bowen, whom he doted on, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Mr. Poree is also preceded in death by siblings, Glenda (Theodore) and Anthony Sr. A Celebration service honoring the life of the late Mr. Albert Poree, Sr. will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Thursday, February 24, 2022 at 10 am. Fr. Ajani Gibson Officiating. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum.
