Willie Mae Veronica Smith Fraise passed away in Mobile, AL at the age of 94 years old. She moved to Mobile, AL after Hurricane Katrina in August 2005. Mrs. Fraise was born in New Orleans, LA on January 13, 1928 to the late Walter and Edna Torrgano Smith. Beloved mother of thirteen, Joseph J. Bijou, Sr., Phyllis Fraise, Gwendolyn Donahue, Sheila Craig, Connie Buchanan, Yvette Riggins, the late Darrell Fraise, Van Fraise, Michell Fraise, Eric Fraise, Sr. and Malcolm Bijou. Sister of Lorraine Green, Geraldine Carter, the late Shirley Burette, Marguerite Jones, Melvina Smith, Harold Smith, Sr. and Charles Smith. Also survived by twenty five grandchildren, a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Willie Mae Veronica Smith Fraise will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at 10 a.m. Interment: Mount Olivet Cemetery.
