Obituary for Alfred Martin

Alfred Martin passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, May 16, 2022 at the age of 75. He was born in New Orleans, LA on April 25, 1947 to the late Andres and Elvina Latapie Martin and was a lifelong resident of Caernarvon, LA. Alfred is married to his soulmate and love of his life, Carmen Everhardt Martin for 54 years. In addition to his wife, Mr. Martin is survived by his daughters, Tammy Martin and Kim Martin Kennedy (Michael); granddaughters, Raquel Nicolosi and Mia Kennedy; great-granddaughters, Kyliee Nicolosi and Reiley Nicolosi. Also survived by his siblings, Henry Martin (Linda) and Letitia Martin. In addition to his parents, Mr. Martin was also preceded in death by siblings, Andre Martin (Victoria), Michael Martin (Donna), Rita Martin, Elodia Martin Guidry (Jack) and Josephene Martin Cure (Martin). He will be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and friends. Alfred worked as a craftsman, welder, boatbuilder and fisherman. He lived his life for his family and he enjoyed dancing, winemaking and was a jack of all trades. Relatives and Friends; Priest and Parishioners of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Alfred Martin will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2621 Colonial Blvd., Violet, LA 70092 on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 12 30 p.m. Alfred will be laid to rest at St. Bernard Catholic Cemetery, St. Bernard, LA. Visitation 10 a.m. in the church. An intimate celebration in memory of Mr. Martin will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Community Center after the burial.
