Mrs. Joyce Gilyot Smith, age 86, peacefully entered eternal rest on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 at 11:55 p.m. Daughter of the late Joseph W. Sr. and Veronica Watts Gilyot. Beloved wife of 61 years to the late William A. Smith, III. Loving and devoted mother of William (Billy) Smith, IV and the late Kevin David Smith. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Smith retired after working many years at the USDA-National Finance Center. She was a loving caregiver to her family. Relatives and friends, Priest and Parishioners of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Joyce Gilyot Smith will be held at St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church, 7300 Crowder Boulevard, New Orleans, LA 70127 on Monday, May 23, 2022 at 11 a.m. Interment, Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum.
