Mary Populus Sneed Mason was born in New Orleans, LA to the late James Populus, Sr. and Lucille Pajaud on April 18, 1927. She was a 1944 graduate of McDonogh 35 High School. Mrs. Mason enjoyed going to church, reading, traveling, playing cards and spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, Mary was also preceded in death by siblings, James, Jr., William, Lucille, Thelma, Elizabeth and Mildred; two children, Eldon and Michele; husbands, Perry Sneed, III and Vernon Mason. Left to cherish her memory are six children, Donald, Diana (Archie), Glen (Tameka), Wendell, Sonya and Elliott; first cousin, Deloris; twenty-eight grandchildren, forty-one great-grandchildren, eleven great-great grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Mary Populus Sneed Mason will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet-Labat-Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Thursday, June 9, 2022 at 12 noon, Prophetess Sonya Sneed Molina of Impacting Lives Ministries, Montgomery, AL, Officiating. Internment Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122. Visitation 11 am in the chapel.
