Hattie J. "Ma'am" Holmes, a former resident of New Orleans, LA and resident of Garland, TX, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at 12:54 am. Wife of the late Henry Holmes, Sr. Mother of Warren Washington, Sr., Gwen Washington, Marie Magee (Wardell), Henry Holmes, Jr. (Sylvia), Lucille Collins (Marvin Sr.), Jacqueline Edwards and James Holmes (Shameka). Also survived by sixteen grandchildren, thirty nine great-grandchildren, seven great-great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and longtime friends. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Hattie J. Holmes will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 1625 Annette Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at 11 am. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122. Visitation 10 am in the church.
