KENNETH HURST OBITUARY
Kenneth J. Hurst, Sr., age 64, Son of Olga Stiaes Hurst and the late Henry Spencer Hurst and a lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA went to eternal rest on Friday, July 29, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. He fought a good fight and was surrounded by family and loved ones in the comfort of his home until the very end. Kenneth was a beloved husband, son, father, grandfather, brother and uncle. In 2011, He married his loving wife, Sherrye C. Hurst. In addition to his wife and mother, Mr. Hurst also leaves to cherish precious memories, sons, Devin Hurst (Kellie) and Kenneth J. Hurst, Jr; four grandchildren, CJ, Khoi, Kayson and Kaylie; sisters, Cynthia H. Coleman and Sharon Hunter (Joseph, Sr.); brother-in-law, Louis Dyer, Sr. Also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his father, Mr. Hurst was also preceded in death by siblings, Henry J. Hurst, Vernell Hurst (Grinier), Jean Ann Simpson (Walter) and Mable Blanche Dyer; brother-in-law, Willie Coleman, Jr. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Kenneth J. Hurst, Sr., will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 1 pm. Interment private.Visitation 12 noon in the chapel. Due to Covid 19, for the health and safety of all, everyone in attendance is asked to wear a face mask and practice social distancing.
