ODESSA GRIFFIN OBITUARY
Ms. Odessa T. Griffin was born on September 30, 1924. She entered the heavenly gates on Friday, August 5, 2022. Daughter of the late Rosa and Sherman Turner. Wife of the late John Tasker, Jr. Sister of the late Leroy Turner (Dorothy). Beloved mother of John Griffin (Gilda), Cynthia Hurst (Edward), Cheryl Richards (Keith) and the late Deborah (Eric), Johnyl, Patricia and Thalverlis Griffin. Also survived by granddaughter and caregiver, Shenita Griffin (Eric Johnson); fourteen other grandchildren, twenty six great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, lifelong and devoted friends, Jackie Wade and the late Ruby Jackson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Ms. Odessa was a housewife who dedicated her life to family and was a blessing to each individual that ever crossed her path. She was a beautiful soul that will be missed by many. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Ms. Odessa T. Griffin will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Friday, August 12, 2022 at 10 am. Interment: Carrollton Cemetery.
