EDWARD JOHNSON OBITUARY
Mr. Edward Vernon Johnson, age 78, a retired entrepreneur and owner of Johnson's Pre-School Academy, entered eternal rest on Tuesday, August 9, 2022, of ALS (Lou Gehrig's) disease at his residence surrounded by family. Mr. Johnson was born in New Orleans LA, where he lived until death. He was a graduate of George Washington Carver Senior High School and an Army veteran. Mr. Johnson was a member of True Love Baptist Church where he served on the deacon board. Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Wakefield Johnson; son, Derrick Johnson; daughter, Paula Mallet and sister, Dionne Adams. Also survived by five grandchildren, a host of other loving relatives and friends. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Edward Vernon Johnson will be held at Greater Evergreen Baptist Church, 2243 Clouet Street, New Orleans, LA 70117 on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10 am.
