DARREL GONZALES OBITUARY
Darrel Casimire Gonzales, Jr., passed on Thursday, August 4, 2022. With his passing, he leaves behind a large loving family. Darrel is survived by his wife, Lauren Becnel Gonzales; children, Darrel Casimire, III and Maria Louise; father and step mother, Darrel Casimere, Sr. and Erica Gonzales; sisters, Keisha Landry (Chad), Tonia Gonzales (Steven), Nickcole Frught (Jeff), Melissa Bourg (Kevin), Brandy Kellum; brothers, Justin Gonzales and Derek Willis (Ashlynn); parents in law, Robert and Carol Becnel, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as an abundance of friends. Darrel was born in Houma, LA on December 14, 1982. He grew up in Thibodeaux, LA before moving to St. Bernard Parish where he graduated from St. Bernard High School in 2002. After completing high school, Darrel chose to serve his country by joining the United States Army. Upon the end of his service, he pursued careers in both, HVAC and commercial fishing in St. Bernard. Darrel was invested in his community. He especially enjoyed taking part in coaching baseball for his son's team and was a staunch supporter of his daughter, by not only attending every dance recital she was in, but also participating in the "Daddy's Dance". He was also a local member of the Knights of Columbus. Despite his passing, Darrel's family derives solace from the fact that he is joining his mother and stepfather, the late Dale Barnes Rachal and Gregory Bill Rachal. A memorial service honoring the life of the late Mr. Darrel Casimire Gonzales, Jr., will be held at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 2107 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA on Sunday, August 28, 2022 at 1 pm.
