MARVA WILCOX-PARKER OBITUARY
Marva Verlon Wilcox-Parker peacefully entered into eternal rest on Monday, August 29, 2022 at the age of 82. Daughter of the late Whitman C. Wilcox, Jr. and Vivian Ford Wilcox. Beloved sister of Gwendolyn Wilcox Francis and Debra G. Wilcox. Aunt of Troy L. Morrison, Kevin L. Bell, Whitman C. Wilcox, IV (Rochelle), Stacy Bell Cavett (Willie), Kimberly J. Francis, Ashley Wilcox Williams (Jeffrey) and Kyle A. Wilcox. Former sister-in-law of Yolanda Stevenson and Bennie Francis, Jr. Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Parker is also preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Walter R. Parker, Jr; siblings, Leah Wilcox Bell, Lydia Wilcox Kennedy and Whitman C. Wilcox III; nephew, Jason K. Bell. Mrs. Parker was a retired educator who dedicated her life to early childhood education with the Orleans Parish Public School System for over 43 years, after earning both her Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Education from Xavier University. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Marva Verlon Wilcox-Parker will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet-Labat-Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, September 10, 2022 at 10 am, Rev. Dr. Issac Perkins, Officiating. Internment Mount Olivet Cemetery and Mausoleum, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Visitation 9 am in the Chapel.
