JAMES HOOPER OBITUARY
Mr. James L. Hooper was born to the late Jake, Sr. and Lizzie Hill Hooper on March 23, 1941 in Glendora, MS. He was called to eternal rest on Friday, September 9, 2022. Mr. Hooper is the husband of the late Gloria E. Hooper, with whom he shared 35 wonderful years. Survivors include his children, Lizzie, Doris and Brenda of Memphis, TN, Mary Lisa and Elvis Brooks (Jaquita) of Charleston, MS, Ken Enclarde (Lajordan), Jere, Lakisha Hooper-Jones (Jacob), Avriane and Faren Hooper, Clarence Richard (Brandi) of New Orleans, LA, bonus daughter, Amy Jeansonne of New Orleans, LA; siblings, John Hooper of New Orleans, LA and Cora Towers of Glendora, MS; mother-in-law, Louise Barthelemy; seven sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, thirty five grandchildren, thirty eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, a host of other relatives and friends. In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Hooper is also preceded in death by by three grandchildren, Deangelo Dale, Jordan Brown and Ash'Lai Hooper. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. A Homegoing Celebration honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. James L. Hooper will be held at Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church, 1904 Goodwill Drive, Violet, LA 70092 on Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 12 noon, Pastor Merlin Flores, Sr., Officiating. Visitation 11 am in the church. Interment St. Joseph Cemetery, Phoenix, LA. Due to COVID-19, face masks and social distancing are encouraged.
