BARBARA ELLOIE OBITUARY
Barbara Hickman Elloie, 83, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2022 at home. Barbara was born in New Orleans to William Hickman and Lillian Wall Hickman. An alumnus of Dillard University, she taught in New Orleans Public School System for over 30 years. While attending Dillard University, she met the love of her life the late Henry Elloie, Jr and they were married for 45 years. She was a parishioner of St Maria Goretti Church. She was a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority and the Quettes. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry Elloie, Jr, her daughter, LaJeune S. Elloie, her parents, William and Lillian Hickman, her siblings, Charles, Hickman, Sr and Rosina Howard, and a grandson, Rene L. Darby, III. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle R. Elloie, 3 grandchildren, Randy Douglas, Sr, Maicey Darby, and Mandye Darby, 4 great grandchildren Randy, Jr and Raheem Douglas, Maison Darby, and Laicee Ramee, a sister-in-law, Carolyn (Robert) Patin, and a host of nephews and nieces, family and friends. Retired employees of New Orleans Public School System, Winn Dixie, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, the Quettes, Krewe of Athena, Krewe of Themis, Krewe of Harmonia, family and friends are invited to attend the celebration of life of Barbara H. Elloie at Corinne Missionary Baptist Church, 5620 E. Judge Perez Dr. Violet, LA 70092 at 10:00am on Saturday, September 24, 2022 Dr. John Bailey, Jr officiating, visitation will begin at 9:00am.
