VERDELL SOLOMON OBITUARY
Mrs. Verdell Ebron Solomon was born on September 8, 1949 in New Orleans, LA to the late Selena "Leno" Palmer Ebron. She departed this life peacefully, surrounded by her family on her birthday, Thursday, September 8, 2022. Mrs. Solomon fought a brave 24-year battle with breast cancer. In addition to her mother, she was also preceded in death by her grandmother, Annie Matthews ("Granny"); older sister, Betty Jean Ebron ("Yaya"); younger sister, Gail Ebron ("Maw Maw") and son-in-law, Edward Rodgers. Verdell leaves to cherish her memory, daughters, Deontrinise Mosley of Lancaster, TX and Marlo Solomon of New Orleans, LA; sons, Thames Solomon, Jr. and Corey Warren, Sr. both of New Orleans, LA; "One and only" granddaughter, Mia Ashley Rodgers; grandsons, Trajoan Mayberry, Corey Warren, Jr. and Calee Warren. Also survived by a host of other loving relatives and friends. Verdell, who never met a stranger, was referred to by several affectionate names. She was known as "Vern," "Ms. V" and "Bird." She graduated from George Washington Carver Senior High School and retired from New Orleans' Regional Transit Authority as a bus driver. She will be remembered as a doting mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and cherished friend. Verdell was always willing to uplift and encourage others and to share whatever she had. She enjoyed life, family members and many friends. She was always there to brighten the life of others and will be sorely missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Verdell Ebron Solomon will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, September 24, 2022 at 10 am.
