ANN STUART OBITUARY
Mrs. Ann Marie Depass Stuart, born October 12, 1936 in New Orleans, LA, daughter of the late Peter A. Depass, Sr. and Gladys Lafargue. Ann went to our Lord on Thursday, October 20, 2022. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Peter A. Depass, Jr. Survivors include her loving husband, Ronald J. Stuart; nieces, Claire, Constance, Gina and Angelica Stuart; nephews, Derek and Kevin Depass, Timothy Stuart and a host of other relatives and great friends. She attended Corpus Christi Elementary School and St. Mary's Academy from 4th through 12th grades. She was awarded a scholarship and graduated from Xavier University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education and Master of Arts in Guidance and Counseling. Mrs. Stuart began her teaching career in the Orleans Parish School System at Craig Elementary and Jones Elementary Schools. She also counseled at Beauregard Junior High School and retired in 1988 from F. W. Gregory Junior High School. She was active in her parish church, St. Leo the Great, as a lector at Mass and donated resources and time to parish fairs where kids lined up for the fun. She was a member of the Rinky-Dinks Women's Social Club which she and her friends founded when they were children. In 2004 she and her husband Ronald were awarded the Order of St. Louis IX Medallion---one of the most cherished awards presented in the Archdiocese of New Orleans. She spent quality time with family and friends and enjoyed dancing, shopping, traveling and dining out. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Ann Marie Depass Stuart will be held at St. Raymond/St. Leo the Great Catholic Church, 2619 Paris Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 11:30 am. Internment St. Louis Cemetery #3, 3421 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, LA. Visitation 10 am in the church. Repast follows at St. Raymond/St. Leo the Great Ginyard Hall on Paris Avenue next to the rectory. Due to Covid variants, face masks and social distancing encouraged.
