LEAH DOUGLAS OBITUARY
Mrs. Leah V. Lanier Douglas on Tuesday, October 25, 2022 at the tender age of 71, entered into eternal life at Tulane Medical Center. A native of New Orleans and a resident of Violet, LA, Leah was born on May 11, 1951 to the late Harrison Lanier and Josephine Lomax Lanier Miller. Leah was educated in the Orleans Parish School System. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member and servant of Corinne Missionary Baptist Church. Mrs. Douglas leaves to cherish precious memories, husband, Joseph Douglas, Sr.; children, Nicole Lanier-Gilbert (Carlos), Kimberly Douglas Young (Brain), Jason Douglas and Dinah King (Kenya); also mother to Semaj, Jayda and Jefferie Douglas; grandchildren, Calisha Gilbert, Branden Young, Jason Canada, Sierra Sanders, Kelvin Briggs, Jr., Kenya King and De'Jon Britton; great-grandchild, Terrionne Brazil and Godchild, Shelita Lanier-Leggett. Also survived by her church family, a host of other loving relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Douglas was also preceded in death by her sister, Sandra Lanier Isom and children, Joseph Douglas, Jr. and Darnell Stewart. Relatives and friends, Pastor, Officers and members of Corinne Missionary Baptist Church, and co-workers of the family, are all invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Leah V. Lanier Douglas will be held at Corinne Missionary Baptist Church, 5620 E. Judge Perez Drive, Violet, LA 70092 on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10 am, Rev. Dr. John Bailey, Jr., Officiating. Interment Merrick Cemetery, 7405 E.
