DIANNE PETRIE OBITUARY
Dianne "Ann" Petrie passed away on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at the age of 65. Born on September 18, 1957 in New Orleans, LA to Barbara Red and the late Herman Morris. She is preceded in death by her great-grandparents, Poppa and Anne Webb; grandmother, Elizabeth Webb Petrie; stepfather, Laurie Red, Sr; close friends and children's grandparents, Audrey and Oscar Johnson, Sr. and grandson, Terrence Johnson, Jr. Sister of Laurie, Jr. (Tracy), Rodney (Rosie) and Cedric Red (Nikki), Herman, III, Anthony and Cecil Morris, Angela Webb (Mike), Cynthia Phillips (Charles), the late Hermalee, Aaron and Brian Morris. She also leaves to mourn her passing, children, Terrence Johnson, Sr. (Zimeka), Damon, Sr. (Diane) Quinton and Sean Petrie; her one and only daughter, Tracy Petrie-Oatis (Harold); Goddaughter Tina Fountain, twenty five grandchildren, sixteen great grand-children, a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Dianne attended New Orleans Public Schools and graduated from G. W. Carver High School. She began her career as an Accounting Clerk at Webb, CPA Firm, where she worked for over 25 years. When Dianne became a grandmother, she began being affectionately known as Ann, not only to her grandchildren but to countless family members, colleagues and friends. Dianne enjoyed planning family gatherings and parties for holidays, birthdays and baby showers. She especially enjoyed having Saints Game Parties at her house! Her hobbies included putting together puzzles, crocheting and playing bingo. Some of her most exciting times were hanging out and partying with the "Fabulous Four" a group made up of Dianne, her sisters, Angela and Cynthia, and her aunt Mercedes. She will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. The Family would like to express our most heartfelt thanks to the staff and caregivers at St. Margaret's Nursing Home, UMC Hospital, New Orleans East Hospital and DaVita Fleur De Lis Dialysis Center. A Memorial Service honoring the life and legacy of the late Dianne "Ann" Petrie will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 0n Saturday, November 19, 2022 at 1 pm, Bishop Earl J. Blackwell, Jr., Officiating. Interment private. Visitation 12 noon in the chapel. A Repass will follow the service. Due to Covid variants, face masks and social distancing encouraged.
