Obituary for Terry ""Coach Free"" Freeman

TERRY FREEMAN OBITUARY
Terry "Coach Free" Freeman, age 63, passed away on Sunday, November 20, 2022 at his home. Mr. Freeman was preceded in death by his mother, Grace Hazel Prevost. He is survived by his loving wife, Wanda; daughters, Adrena, Terry Nicole and Danielle; eleven grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brothers, Louis Prevost, James Freeman (Janice) and Gregory Davis; aunts, Marshall Newton and Lola Harris. Also survived by a hosts of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Terry was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and was a graduate of McDonogh 35 High School Class of 1978 and also attended Alcorn State University in Lorman, MS, where he was a graduate in the Class of 1982. He lettered in two sports, served as team leader and was selected ALL Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) team. "Coach Free" was an Architect of "Excellence" throughout his life. He was an accomplished educator, mentor, community activist, role model and a builder of character in young men and women. Terry faithfully served as lector and Eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church and the International Shrine of St. Jude (St. Jude). A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Terry "Coach Free" Freeman will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 411 N. Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA 70112 on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10 am. Visitation 9 am in the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to St. Jude Catholic Church, 411 Rampart Street, New Orleans, LA 70112 in memory of Coach Terry Freeman.
