ALVIN ROBERTSON OBITUARY
Mr. Alvin Robertson, Jr. departed this life on Monday, November 21, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Robertson was born on October 8, 1966 to Phyllis Duplessis and the late Alvin Robertson, Sr. in Los Angeles CA. He later moved to New Orleans where he received his formal education in the Orleans Parish public school system, attending Joseph S. Clark (1984). After graduating, Alvin later enlisted in the United States Air Force. He was a dedicated employee of the United States Passport Agency. In addition to his mother, Mr. Robertson also leaves to cherish precious memories, his daughter, Anika (Lloyd) Shaw; siblings, Reynoud Duplessis, Giselle (Leo) Duplessis, Lisha Robertson and Alishia (Mark) Woods; grandchildren, Loy'nika and Lloyd, Jr; nieces and nephews, Brittany Duplessis, Nicholas Duplessis, Alysia Duplessis, Phyllisa Duplessis, Haakein Duplessis, Ahmad Duplessis, Bryisha (Mike) Lyons, Daja Vigne and Mark Woods, Jr; Goddaughter, Jordan Duplessis, as well as a host of great nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, other family and loving friends. In addition to his father, Alvin is also preceded in death by a niece, Mariah Monai Woods; sister-in-law, Helen Duplessis; maternal grandparents, Russell and Rose Crump-Pellebon; paternal grandparents, George Sr. and Martha Robinson. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Alvin Robertson, Jr. will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Wednesday, December 7 2022 at 10 am. Interment Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive, Slidell, LA 70460. Visitation 9 am in the chapel. Repass will follow from 2 pm to 5 pm.
