Obituary for Philip Howard Hebert Sr.

PHILIP HEBERT OBITUARY
Mr. Philip Howard Hebert, Sr., age 90, affectionately known as "Lolly", passed away in his sleep on Tuesday, December 27, 2022. He was a beloved father, father-in-law, grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, brother, brother-in-law, cousin and friend. Mr. Hebert was born May 19, 1932 to the late Joseph, Sr. and Anna Rachel Condiff-Hebert. He was raised in a Christian home in New Orleans and attended St. Peter Claver Elementary School, McDonogh 35 High School and went on to earn a Bachelor's degree in Liberal Arts and Sciences. He served 4 years active duty in the United States Air Force and over 39 years in the United States Air Force Reserve. He retired as a Senior Master Sergeant. Mr. Hebert was employed as a Civilian Employee at Belle Chasse Naval Air Station, in the 926 Tactical Field Unit and later transferred to NASA Michoud Assembly Facility, where he worked as a Quality Assurance Specialist for the Defense Logistics Agency. On May 4, 1957, he married Patricia Ann Boyd and from this union, three children were born, Stephanie, Philip, Jr. and Kevin. After retiring from civilian and military service, Philip became the owner of Hebert's Lounge. In Philip's retirement years, he enjoyed fishing with his son-in-law and spending time with family and friends. He enjoyed listening to his collection of Blues and Jazz music. In addition to his parents, Philip was also preceded in death by his wife, Patricia; six sisters, four brothers, fourteen brothers-in-law and six sisters-in-law. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Hebert-Reed (Phillip, Sr.); sons, Philip H. Hebert, Jr. (Schanette) and Kevin Hebert; three grandchildren, Phillip Jr., Philip, III and Blaire. Also survived by a host of other relatives and friends. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Philip Howard Hebert, Sr., will be held at Corpus Christi/ Epiphany Catholic Church, 2022 St. Bernard Avenue, New Orleans, LA on Friday, January 6, 2023 at 10 am, Rev. Kingsley Ogbuji, SSJ, Administrator/Celebrant. Interment St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery. Visitation 8 am in the church. Due to Covid variants, face masks and social distancing strongly encouraged.
