HELEN ALFONSO OBITUARY
Helen Rita Morales Alfonso, born August 31, 1928, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 6, 2023 at the age of 94, surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife of the late Joseph Alfonso, Jr. Daughter of the late Pasqual Morales and Jeanne Robin. Beloved mother of Joseph W. Alfonso III, Pasqual Alfonso (Bertha) and Carla Powell. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Alfonso is also preceded in death by her son, Joseph Alfonso III and sister, Dorothy Perez. Proud grandmother of Rebecca, Kristen, Taylor, Dawn, Megan, Joe, Celeste and Melissa. Also survived by numerous great and great-great grandchildren. Helen was born in New Orleans, LA and was a lifelong resident of Saint Bernard Parish. She was an employee of the National Park Service for many years, but her one true dedication was to her family. She will be deeply missed, forever loved and remembered by her family and friends. Relatives and friends; Priest and Parishioners of Saint Bernard Catholic Church are invited to attend the funeral. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Helen Morales Alphonso will be held at Saint Bernard Catholic Church, 2805 Bayou Road, Saint Bernard, LA on Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11: 30 am. Interment Saint Bernard Catholic Church Cemetery. Visitation 9:30 am in the church. Due to Covid variants, face masks and social distancing strongly encouraged.
