AARON EUGENE OBITUARY
Aaron Eugene passed away at University Medical Center on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at the age of 66. Aaron was a lifelong resident of New Orleans and a 1976 graduate of Francis T. Nicholls High School. Aaron was baptized at St. John Devine Missionary Baptist Church by the late Rev. Willie Newman. He played baseball, basketball and football in high school. After high school, he coached at Bunny Friend playground. Aaron played baseball with The New Orleans Royals coached by the late Bob Besaint. He retired from hardball and played softball with the Just Funnin baseball team. He loved sports and would spend his Sundays watching the Saints and the Pelicans. Aaron leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Joyce George Eugene; children, Drekkia Magee and Aaron Castle (Ykemica); grandchildren, Germide Magee, Germounce Magee, Dario Johnson, Dakarai Magee, Darmione Magee, Dazarai Johnson, Semaj Aaron Castle; brothers, Michael (Shelia), Kerry (Michelle) and Mark Eugene; aunt, Rhea Eugene, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and devoted friends. Aaron was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Eugene, Jr; grandparents, Alma and Batiste George, Mary and Arthur Eugene Sr; siblings, Alma (Teenie) Eugene, Evangeline (Vangie) Small, Arthur Eugene, III; sister in law, Sondra Eugene; uncle, Lawrence Eugene, Sr; aunts, Melvia Lassai, Mable Jolly, Irma Metoyer-Davis and great aunt, Beulah LaBostrie. A Memorial service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Aaron Eugene will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Saturday, January 21, 2023 at 1 pm.
