ERMA BLUNT OBITUARY
Erma Duckworth Blunt peacefully entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at the age of 92. She was born in Tchula, MS on Jan 31, 1930 to the late LD and Bernice Archer Duckworth. Loving sister of Odessa Duckworth and Elouise D. Kensey. Mother of Deborah Blunt Merriell and Jerome W. Blunt. Grandmother of Darrell, Tyrome, Talecia and Jerrimy Blunt, Shanna Coxen, Karen B. Dalcour and Michelle B. Wright. Mom Erma and her family moved to NOLA at age 15 where she met and later married Jerry W. Blunt who departed life too soon. In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Blunt is also preceded in death by her siblings, Ore, Louis, Charles and Anita Duckworth and Bernice D. Royal. In addition to her children and siblings, she also leaves a daughter-in-law, Alethia Coxen, seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A Celebration service honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Erma Duckworth Blunt will be held in the Chapel of Charbonnet Labat Glapion Funeral Home, 1615 St. Philip Street, New Orleans, LA 70116 on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at 10 am, Rev. Hank Lawrence, Officiating. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation 9 am in the Chapel. Due to Covid variants, face masks and social distancing strongly encouraged.
