ERIC BROWN OBITUARY
Eric Brown was born on September 17, 1971 to the late Roland Brown Sr. and Edwin Brown. He entered into eternal rest on Monday, January 16, 2023 at the age of 51. Mr. Brown was affectionately known as "Rickey" by his family and close friends. He was a native of New Orleans, where he resided until his death. Eric was a graduate of Marion Abramson Senior High School and was employed in the hotel and tourism industry. He was a former employee of Café Du Monde, Court of Two Sisters Restaurant, The Fairmont Hotel, Hilton Garden and Harrah's Casino. His true passion was serving several local churches by playing the organ. Beloved brother of Eugenia M. Brown of Baton Rouge, LA, Gertrude R. Moses (Tommie) of Stone Mountain, GA, Lewis R. Brown (Shamaria) of Maryland, VA and Roland Brown, Jr. of New Orleans, LA. Uncle and father figure of Latonya Darensbourg (Malcolm) of Laplace, LA, Shemeka Gunn of Fort Worth, TX, Quiana Brown of Baton Rouge, LA, Jamaal Gunn (Scherrie) of New Orleans, LA, Jawaan Gunn of LA, Quincy Brown of Baton Rouge, LA, Kayla Brown of Stone Mountain, GA, and Khaliey and Chance Brown of New Orleans, LA. Best friend of Jerome Tilquit. He is also survived by twelve great nieces and nephews, a host of other relatives and friends. Relatives and friends; former employers, coworkers and Orleans Parish Sheriff Office are invited to attend the funeral. A Celebration Service honoring the life of the late Eric "Rickey" Brown will be held at Greater Mt. Carmel Missionary Church, 3721 N. Claiborne Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70117 on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 11 am, Pastor D.R. Berryhill, Officiating. Interment Holt Cemetery. Visitation 10 am in the church.
