LAWRENCE SAYLES OBITUARY
Lawrence Oscar Sayles, Jr., affectionately known as "Larry, Jr. and Powder Man," departed this earthly life on Monday, January 23, 2023. He was born to the late Lawrence Oscar Sayles, Sr. and Mabel Gair in New Orleans, LA. Husband of Rhondalyn Sayles. Father of Ann Mack, August Sayles, Albert (Sheila) Stewart, Terry LeDuff, Susie (Ernest) Camel and Sheri (Leslie) Morgan, the late Elizabeth, Lawrence, III and Saymon. Brother of Lillian, Laurie and Marlon Sayles, the late Shirley May Raymond, Donald and Emanuel Sayles. Also survived by fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great grandchildren, five great great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Lawrence was educated in the Orleans Parish School System. He was a hard worker and retired as a Laborer after 65 years of service and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Relatives and friends; Pastor, Officers and members of Second Mount Bethel Missionary, Spirit of Liberty and Little Mount Olive Baptist Churches are invited to attend the funeral. A Home Going Celebration honoring the life and legacy of the late Mr. Lawrence Oscar Sayles, Jr. will be held at Second Mount Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, 2525 Danneel Street, New Orleans, LA 70113 on Saturday, February 2, 2023 at 10 am., Elder Albert Stewart, Jr., Officiating.
