Obituary for Wanda Chandler Serino

WANDA SERINO OBITUARY
Mrs. Wanda Chandler Serino died peacefully at home on Saturday, February 25th 2023 in New Orleans. Mrs. Serino was born in Monroe, LA to Anderson and Beatrice Chandler and raised in Lake Charles along with her sister, Lenora. An avid singer in her youth, she and Lenora performed as The Chandler Sisters on their own local radio program. She received her bachelor's degree from Xavier University and made New Orleans her permanent residence after marrying Robert Allen Serino in 1966. In addition to working for over 35 years as a medical technologist, she also owned and operated several laboratory training centers. In her personal time, Wanda loved reading, writing, going to the theatre and movies and laughing at all manner of comedy. A devout Catholic, She was an active parishioner at Our Lady of the Rosary Church for most of her life. Mrs. Serino is survived by three daughters, Andrea Serino-Perkins (Charleston), Robin Serino and Rashan (Sean) Serino; niece, Ann Zimmerman; grandchildren, Clarke, Summer and Joshua, as well as several other nieces and nephews through marriage. The loving remembrance of her first two daughters, Maria Alisa and Stephanie, was also with her throughout her life. A Mass of Christian burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Wanda Chandler Serino will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, 3368 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70119 on Friday, March 3rd 2023 at 12 o'clock noon. The eulogy will be delivered by her son-in-law, Charleston (Chuck) Perkins. A Private Interment will be held at Mount Olivet Mausoleum, 4000 Norman Mayer Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70122.
