AUDREY BAQUET OBITUARY
Audrey Margaret Hurel "Gram", "Tee" Baquet, loving daughter of the late Ansley A. and Lydia Rebert Hurel, earned her angels wings on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at the golden age of 96. Beloved wife of 71 years of the late Albert L. Baquet, Jr. Beloved mother of Karin Baquet Wallace (Wayne) and the late Allen G. Baquet, Sr. (Marilyn). Loving sister of the late Ansley A. Hurel, Jr. ( the late Barbara). Stepdaughter of the late Bernadette Hurel. Proud grandmother of Christy Wallace Slater (Jeffery), Tricia L. Wallace, Allen G. Baquet, Jr. (Savannah) and Jeremy J. Baquet (Amy). Mrs. Baquet is also survived by her beloved sisters- in- law, Muriel Cureau and Cynthia Baquet, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. Mrs. Baquet was a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans and a graduate of Miss Irene's School, St. Peter Claver School, St. Mary's Academy and Straight Business School. She was employed for many years by the Standard Life Insurance Company, The United States Post Office, the United States Department of Agriculture and the United States Army . Many thanks to Vernalyn Juan, M.D., Frank Wilklow, M.D., Doctors, nurses and staff of Touro Infirmary and St. Margaret's at Mercy Nursing Home, the staff and members of Harmony House Senior Center. A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life and legacy of the late Mrs. Audrey Margaret Hurel "Gram" "Tee" Baquet will be celebrated at St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church, 5029 Louisa Street, New Orleans, LA 70126 on Wednesday, March 15, 2023 at 10 am. Interment St. Louis No. 3 Cemetery. Visitation 8:30 am in the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church.
